Daniel McDermott is an Irish composer, songwriter, producer, video-maker and multi-instrumentalist. His music fuses elements of jazz, classical, world, minimal techno, house and electronica. His output includes albums, remixes, music for performing arts, film music and modern classical pieces.
Drawing on the avant-garde size of popular music, his music ranges from sound installations to songs and instrumentals. He has achieved one scholarship in composition. His classical music has been selected by the Crash Ensemble for Free State 7, Free State 9 , Free State 10 and Free State 12. Other awards include the IMRO music award and the West Cork Chamber music award. His music has also been selected for Derry/Londonderry City of Culture, RTE National Symphony Orchestra's Composer Lab and The Britten Symphonia’s OPUS competition.
He has released one electronica album The Lullaby Wars. His electronic music has been broadcast on 2fm, Lyric Fm and various stations in the UK and Australia. He has also written music for Dublin's Fringe festival and various TV programs. He has performed and toured as a solo electronic artist and with a band.
